On Friday, November 2nd, Double Dane Games will host MTG Two-Headed Giant Draft format at 6pm, followed by Standard at around 10pm. The mall will be closed by 8pm, so if you’re arriving after Two-Headed Giant for Standard please use our back door on 5th street (ring the buzzer).
Bring your favorite standard deck or join in the team draft for a chance to experience some great game play, win prizes, or just hang out with other players to discuss strategies and trade cards. We hope to see you there!
Cost for Two-Headed Giant Draft is $30 and Standard is $5.
A Standard deck consists of a minimum of sixty cards. Although there is no maximum deck size, a player must be able to shuffle his or her deck without assistance. Standard format provides for an optional sideboard of up to 15 fifteen cards. A player’s sideboard and deck combined may not contain more than four copies of any given card (land cards excepted).

In Two-Headed Giant Draft teams are assembled into pods with teammates sitting next to each other. Booster packs are then given to each team in the pod. Each team chooses two cards from the booster pack and places them into one of two piles. These cards are not yet assigned to a particular player but will later used to as the pool from which both players will build their decks. After cards are selected the remaining cards are passed to the team on the left. This continues until all cards are drafted. For each succeeding pack, draft rotation alternates direction (as usual). While discussion is not allowed in regular draft, in Two-Headed Giant Draft players are allowed to communicate with their teammates and assist each other (as they are making picks together, as a team).
